NEWTON TOWNSHIP MINUTES 11-13-2019

Newton Township Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.  Those in attendance were Township residents John Phillips, Bernadine Swingle, and Paula Frank (elected Fiscal Officer), Jason Taylor, Road Maintenance Employee for the Township; Allen Deaver, Fire Chief; James R. Smith and Robert Stephenson, Charles R. Elson, Township Trustees and Derek Dozer, Fiscal Officer.

Meeting was called to order by Trustee Elson at 6:00pm.

Pledge to the flag was led by Randy Elson.

Agenda approved.

Minutes were approved as presented.

Public Participation:  None.

Fire Department Business

Rescue is at Millers.  Parts in and should take a week to repair.

There is a scratch on the new medic.

Fire Prevention is on Friday.  One of the Lifepack units was sent out for repair.

Just finished up a 36 hour class.  Middle of a FF2.  Advanced EMT is running now as well.

New software that was purchased should be up and running on January 1st.  New software should be able to dump patient care report into reports from monitors, etc.  Can upload directly into hospital system and hospital can dump back to us.

There is an odor coming from the FD bays.  Zemba is being called to get prices on pumping out separator.

Banquet has been scheduled for EagleSticks. 

Road Report – Jason Taylor

Work has been completed in White Cottage.

Greenhouse haven’t fixed plate yet.

Pick-up transmission has been having an issue.

FEMA is asking what the price is to rent the Asphalt Zipper and run it.  Trustee Stephenson meets with them again on Friday morning.

Put cold mix on Mahon Rd.

 

Old Business -     Ironspot issue. 

New Business -   None.

Trustees Reports:   - None.

Fiscal Officer Reports

Payment registers, appropriations, fund status reports, grass roots clippings received.

All bills presented were deemed to be valid expenditures and were to be paid as presented.

Next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 11th, 2019 at 6:00pm at the Fire Department.  Appropriations were discussed and approved.
