NEWTON TOWNSHIP MINUTES 1-16-2019

Newton Township Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, January 16th, 2019.  Those in attendance were Jason Taylor, Road Maintenance Employee for the Township; Craig Knox Assistant Chief and EMS Coordinator; James R. Smith and Robert Stephenson, Charles R. Elson, Township Trustees and Derek Dozer, Fiscal Officer.

Meeting was called to order by Trustee Elson at 6:01pm.

Pledge to the flag was led by Randy Elson.

Agenda approved.

Minutes were approved as presented.

Public Participation:  None.

Fire Department Business

Medic 1081 is having brake problems.  Crawmers working on it now.

Server crashed but should be an easy fix.

Banquet on Saturday night unless storm changes things at EagleSticks.

Road Report – Jason Taylor

Additional salt and cinders should be delivered shortly.

Workman and others have been worked on.

Ditch on Roberts was looked at.

Lights needed at Township Garage due to low light.  Looked at American Light but expensive.  Dozer will look on Amazon to see if prices are any better.

Old Business -     None.

New Business -   Credit card policy will need to be approved by Feb meeting.

49k balance for Type 2 monies from the County. Type 1 money is $86.79 balance.

East Fultonham will be paved this year.

Trustees Reports:   - None.

Fiscal Officer Reports

FO Dozer will attend the 2019 Township Winter Conference as previously approved.

Payment registers, appropriations, fund status reports, grass roots clippings received.

All bills presented were deemed to be valid expenditures and were to be paid as presented.

 

Next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019 at 6:00pm at the Fire Department.  Appropriations were discussed and approved.
