NEWTON TOWNSHIP MINUTES 8-5-2019

Newton Township Trustees met in special session on Wednesday, August 5th, 2019.  Those in attendance were James R. Smith and Robert Stephenson, Charles R. Elson, Township Trustees and Derek Dozer, Fiscal Officer.

Meeting was called to order by Trustee Elson at 6:00pm.

Pledge to the flag was led by Randy Elson.

Agenda approved.

Information to finalized levy for the Fire Department was presented and signed.

Next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 14th, 2019 at 6:00pm at the Fire Department.

Meeting adjourned at 6:15pm

 

NEWTON TOWNSHIP MINUTES 8-14-2019

Newton Township Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, August 14th, 2019.  Those in attendance were John Stottsberry, (Resident from Workman) Bernadine Swingle, Paula Frank – Township Resident; Jason Taylor, Road Maintenance Employee for the Township; Craig Knox Assistant Chief and EMS Coordinator; James R. Smith and Robert Stephenson, Charles R. Elson, Township Trustees and Derek Dozer, Fiscal Officer.

Meeting was called to order by Trustee Elson at 6:00pm.

Pledge to the flag was led by Randy Elson.

Agenda approved.

Minutes were approved as presented.

Public Participation:

Workman Rd – Ditch in front of his house is filling up.  Neighbor’s culvert is 100% plugged up.  42 Workman Rd is the address.  Neighbor (Woodward) is willing to buy culvert.

John Stottsberry – Would like to see ditching on Workman Rd.

Fire Department Business

Deaver – Monarch sent bill for roof work.  Will attend the next meeting and talk about the remaining money they are asking for.

Discussion about the remaining money for the roof.

EMS Software – $10,840, with 8,570 maintenance fees.

Road Report – Jason Taylor

Old Business -     None.

New Business -   None.

Trustees Reports:   - Trustee Stephenson continues to work on FEMA grant for the Township.

Fiscal Officer Reports

Payment registers, appropriations, fund status reports, grass roots clippings received.

All bills presented were deemed to be valid expenditures and were to be paid as presented.

Next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 at 6:00pm at the Fire Department.
