NEWTON TOWNSHIP MINUTES  9-12-2018

Newton Township Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018.  Those in attendance were John Phillips, Township resident; Larry Taylor, Road Maintenance Supervisor for the Township; Allen Deaver Fire Chief; James R. Smith and Robert Stephenson, Charles R. Elson, Township Trustees and Derek Dozer, Fiscal Officer.

Meeting was called to order by Trustee Stephenson at 6:00pm.

Pledge to the flag was led by Robert J. Stephenson.

Agenda approved.

Minutes were approved as presented.

Public Participation: 

None.

Fire Department Business

Grow Ohio ready to start growing.

Cody Baker and Derek Tucker both resigned due personal reasons.

Firefighter was placed on administrative leave due to taking firetruck to private residence.

Joel Tignor will do estimate on soffit at front. 

Handed out proposal for new doors downstairs.  Total price $7,164.84

Trustee Stephenson made motion to accept Modern Glass proposal and start to work on the doors. 

Trustee Elson seconded motion.  All 3 agreed.  Motion passed.

Roof has some spots that may need fixed.

Community Days going as planned.  Working through food changes.

Road Report – Larry Taylor

County chip and seal completed.  Gravel was lean on parts of it.

Chipper broke down.  Welded new latch on the chipper.

Ready to asphalt on 15th or 22nd.

Rebecca is breaking up.

Getting caught up on mowing.  Got Mahon, Yost, etc to go.

Old Business -  None.

New Business -  None.

Trustees Reports: 

Nothing more.

Fiscal Officer Reports

Payment registers, appropriations, fund status reports, grass roots clippings received.

All bills presented were deemed to be valid expenditures and were to be paid as presented.
