NEWTON TOWNSHIP MINUTES 9-13-2017

Newton Township Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, September 13th, 2017.  Those in attendance were Newton Township residents John Stottsberry and John Phillips; Assistant Chief & EMS Coordinator Craig Knox and Fire Chief Allen Deaver of the Fire Department; James R. Smith and Robert Stephenson, Charles R. Elson, Township Trustees and Derek Dozer, Fiscal Officer.

Meeting was called to order by Trustee Smith at 6:02pm.

Pledge to the flag was led by James R. Smith.

Agenda approved.

Minutes were approved as presented.

Public Participation:  None

Fire Department Business

New Boiler is in.

All trucks are up and running.

3 new employees to be sworn in are: Stutes, Fox and Stewart.

Basic EMT Class with 20 students in it and Fire Fighter 1 will have 20 students in it as well.  FF1 is a Fire Marshall funded class.

Old Business -     Resolution 1-9-13-2017 was accepted for rollback of 1 of the Fire levies as promised.

New Business -                 Mowing now.   

Trustees Reports:  Nothing further

 Fiscal Officer Reports

Payment registers, appropriations, fund status reports, grass roots clippings received.

New Certificate of Estimated Resources was received and entered from County Auditor adjusting income and appropriations.

All bills presented were deemed to be valid expenditures and were to be paid as presented.

Next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 6:00pm at the Fire Department.

Meeting adjourned at 6:50pm
