NEWTON TOWNSHIP MINUTES 10-11-2017

Newton Township Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, October 11th, 2017.  Those in attendance were Carol Howdyshell of the Muskingum County Health Department, Newton Township resident John Phillips;  Larry Taylor, Road Maintenance Supervisor for the Township; Assistant Chief & EMS Coordinator Craig Knox and Fire Chief Allen Deaver of the Fire Department; James R. Smith and Robert Stephenson, Charles R. Elson, Township Trustees and Derek Dozer, Fiscal Officer.

Meeting was called to order by Trustee Smith at 6:00pm.

Pledge to the flag was led by James R. Smith.

Agenda approved.

Minutes were approved as presented.

Public Participation: 

Carol Howdyshell of the Muskingum County Health Department

Asking for support for their levy.  ½ Milll levy.  Inspect food, wells, septic tanks, plumbing, immunizations, mosquitos, partner with Genesis.  Levy is 45% of their funding.

$14.86 a year on 100k home.

Fire Department Business

Old Engine 1081 failed pump test and is at Finley.

Old Business -     None.

New Business -   None.

Trustees Reports: 

Trustee Smith – Mower broke window at Graybill residence in Ironspot.

 Fiscal Officer Reports

Payment registers, appropriations, fund status reports, grass roots clippings received.

All bills presented were deemed to be valid expenditures and were to be paid as presented.

Next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov 08, 2017 at 6:00pm at the Fire Department.
