NEWTON TOWNSHIP MINUTES 8-9-2017

Newton Township Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017.  Those in attendance were Newton Township resident Charles Rockwell; Larry Taylor, Road Maintenance Supervisor; Assistant Chief & EMS Coordinator Craig Knox of the Fire Department; James R. Smith and Robert Stephenson, Charles R. Elson, Township Trustees and Derek Dozer, Fiscal Officer.

Meeting was called to order by Trustee Smith at 6:01pm.

Pledge to the flag was led by James R. Smith.

Agenda approved.

Minutes were approved as presented.

Public Participation:

Mr. Charles Rockwell

In attendance to discuss the state of Lower Kroft Rd.  Would like to see it graded or repaired.  The  trustees stated they would look at getting it worked on.

Fire Department Business

Dec 12th delivery date on the new medic.

Utility truck needed to go in for work at Crawmers as seal in motor was leaking.

FEMA purchases are completed.

Knox gave information on levies and the how a rollback would impact the FD.

 

Road Report

Last week in August chip and seal will start

Paving to start August 16th

Harlan Rd 4 culverts will be put in shortly

Shaw culvert needs put in as well.

Lower Kroft will get attention before next meeting.

Trustees Reports:

                Nothing further.

Payment registers, appropriations, fund status reports, grass roots clippings received.

All bills presented were deemed to be valid expenditures and were to be paid as presented.

Next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 6:00pm at the Fire Department.
