NEWTON TOWNSHIP MINUTES 1-13-2015
Newton Township Trustees met in regular session on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Tim Bankes, Sherry Ziemer, Township residents; Larry Taylor, Road Maintenance Supervisor; Larry Geiger, Allen Deaver, Craig Knox, Fire Department; James R. Smith, Robert Stephenson, and Charles R. Elson, Township Trustees; Derek J. Dozer, Township Fiscal Officer.
Meeting was called to order by Trustee Stephenson at 7:00pm.
Pledge to the flag was led by Robert Stephenson.
Agenda was approved as read.
Minutes were approved as presented.
Public Participation:
None.
Fire Department Business:
Knox reporting:
- 2014 Annual Stats (EMS – 690, Fire – 186, with around 8% non-response.
Deaver reporting:
- Appreciated all the help and combined efforts with the lake incident.
- Muddy Boot/Pondo property burned down. Used around 30K gallons of water. Said Beth Shook was on scene and helpful.
- Supposed to have Rescue in by the end of the month.
- HVAC can go ahead and pay electric contractor. Will be fixing and filling holes in walls.
- Subsidances are resolved. Homeowners have been relocated.
- Nothing more to report.
Road Report
Larry Taylor
- Discussion on Holbert bridge. Have been waiting on County for extended period.
- Judy Frash – Alley sign in Ironspot.
Old Business
Smith - None.
Stephenson – 2870 Jenkins has been cleaned up.

Stephenson – Issue with Dottie Steiner street light at 3155 Broadvue Circle.
Morrison Hill – House being built on it.
General – Trustees signed resolution for financing on Fire Trucks through Huntington Bank.

Fiscal Officer reports:
· Presented payment registers, fund status reports, bank reconciliation, grass roots clippings.
All bills presented were deemed to be valid expenditures and were to be paid as presented.
Next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 6:00pm at the Fire Department.
